The 60th anniversary of March Music Days International Festival may be affected by restrictions imposed because of coronavirus, as a meeting at the regional headquarters has discussed. The fate of one of the most important events in Bulgaria’s music life will become clear on Monday when the members of the headquarters will meet again.
The RHI -Rousse recommended that no mass events, such as the festival, be held indoors, as there is currently an increase in the number of influenza patients in the second wave. The municipality has to decide the destiny MMD.
By Monday, all artists to participate in the festival will have to provide information to the organisers whether they have been to countries with a coronavirus. There are two options, in case it is decided not to hold the festival from March 13 to March 29 – either to postpone it for the summer or to skip this year’s edition, explained Deputy Mayor Encho Enchev. If postponed, there is no guarantee that the same musicians will be able to participate again, renowned artists are booked for a couple of years ahead.
