Over 40 cars with protesters block Danube Bridge border crossing over baby Katerina / VIDEO

A protest rally in support of baby Katerina’s family, seized by German social services from her parents over suspected domestic violence, briefly closed the roundabout to the Danube Bridge near Rousse. More than 40 cars and a hundred protesters from Rousse, Razgrad, Kubrat, Dve Mogili traveled throughout the city to reach the border checkpoint and demand that the 7-month-old girl be returned to her family.

With  „Bring back Catherine“ chants, people supporting Katherine`s the parents demanded the Bulgarian child back to Bulgaria.

People have signed a petition with 3000 signatures, submitted to a German court, proving that the family can take care of the baby. A similar letter was sent by the municipality of Dve Mogili, where Katerina’s father is.

Relatives of the family rely on the Bulgarian authorities to help them to correct this injustice.

The relatives hope that their protest will be heard. They will not refuse to fight the support of many Bulgarians, both in Bulgaria and Germany, in order to return little Catherine to her parents.
