Friends of the murdered Elena from Ruse: Let’s stop violence against women!

Friends and colleagues of the murdered 31-year-old Elena Gencheva from Ruse issued a call on social networks against violence against women. Her colleague from Europol, where the young woman worked, wrote: „I never thought I will be writing this.. never thought something like this could happen to someone so close to me. In this time of deep suffering there are no words to ease the pain. Elena Gencheva our colleague and friend was a wonderful presence in the world!  Her light will shine down on each of us. For her we need to say.. scream to the world NOT ONE MORE! No a la violencia de género“.

Elena Gencheva is a graduate of the English High School. Then she took a degree in law in the Netherlands and until her tragic death she worked at Europol. Her body will be transported from the Netherlands to Ruse, and the the funeral service will take place on Friday, November 25, at 13:00 in the „Sveta Troica”” Church in Ruse.

The body of the young Bulgarian woman was found by the police on November 18 at her home in Emmastraat in The Hague, after her friends signaled that they had not seen her for some time. The Dutch police did not provide information on how the death occurred, but according to unofficial information, she was shot by her friend Hristo Katsarov. A European arrest warrant was issued for him, but when the Bulgarian police went to detain him, he committed suicide.

The news of Elena Gencheva’s death shocked everyone who knew her. They describe her as a positive and smiling person who was always ready to help:
